
Brian Cyr represents companies in a variety of business and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, technology-related transactions and intellectual property acquisition, development and licensing. He also has experience with data privacy and information security. Mr. Cyr joined RMG in June 2008, having most recently served as a senior associate at DLA Piper.
After several years with a DLA Piper-predecessor firm following a judicial clerkship, Mr. Cyr left private practice to take an in-house counsel position with a venture-backed technology company. He ultimately held the positions of general counsel, vice president for legal and business affairs and corporate secretary. In those roles, Mr. Cyr oversaw all legal matters, the legal and human resources departments and certain corporate matters. Mr. Cyr additionally counseled employees on intellectual property protection efforts and privacy matters.
Mr. Cyr returned to private practice in 2006 and, in addition to transaction-based representation, provides outside general corporate counsel representation to companies, including those in the information technology and life sciences industries.
