Cynthia L. Spell has over 20 years of experience representing major developers and other companies in all aspects of complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, financing and leasing. She also counsels developers in the creation and sale of commercial condominiums. Ms. Spell was formerly a Partner at Shapiro Sher Guinot & Sandler where she co-chaired the firm’s real estate practice group. Ms. Spell also represents franchisors in legal compliance under federal and state franchise laws, and represents franchisors and franchisees regarding the franchisor/franchisee relationship. She is past Chair of the Franchise and Distribution Law Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association and was formerly General Counsel and Executive Vice President to a national franchisor. Ms. Spell is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is an honors graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (Order of the Coif).
