Newt Fowler leads our business transactions and technology practices. He has an excellent reputation as a business advisor and negotiator for entrepreneurs and mid-market businesses, and provides our clients with practical knowledge and experience on the many business and legal issues they face. Mr. Fowler's practice centers on all aspects of business planning and advisory services, with a focus on representing regional entrepreneurs and mid-market businesses. He also has extensive experience in general business planning, and in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital investments, and financing transactions. Mr. Fowler also advises many of the region's technology companies on technology and intellectual property issues, including licensing and other IP transactions. Mr. Fowler joined us in June, 2005 with 19 years of experience at Venable, including as the partner heading their technology transactions practice. He most recently was a CEO of a regional technology company. Mr. Fowler is a graduate of Centre College of Kentucky (with high distinction, Phi Beta Kappa), and of the University of Kentucky Law School. He is a frequent speaker and writer on business and technology issues and is the immediate past chairman of the Greater Baltimore Technology Council.
