RMG is proud to announce that Gail M. Stern has joined the firm, effective October 10, 2011. The addition of Ms. Stern will expand RMG’s business and real estate practice areas.
Ms. Stern joins the firm with over 25 years’ experience as a business attorney, including both law firm and in-house counsel positions. Ms. Stern represents clients in mergers and acquisitions, financings, real estate transactions, contracts, and corporate and business matters. Prior to joining the firm, she most recently served as Senior Vice President, Legal at Limited Brands, Inc., the Columbus, Ohio based Fortune 500 Company, owner of Victoria’s Secret. Previously a Partner with Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, L.L.P. and Frank, Bernstein, Conaway and Goldman, Ms. Stern also served as Vice President and General Counsel for Mullan Enterprises, Inc.
Ms. Stern is a member of the Board of Governors of The American College of Real Estate Lawyers, a member of the International Council of Shopping Center Law Conference Committee, and was Past-Chair of the Real Property, Planning and Zoning Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.
Gerard J. Gaeng has been named President-Elect of the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association for the 2011-2012 year.
RMG is proud to announce that Gabrielle D. Shirley has recently been elected to become a board member of The Maryland Coalition for Inclusive Education Inc. (MCIE). Ms. Shirley is an associate attorney in Rosenberg | Martin | Greenberg, LLP’s Business and Transactions Group.
MCIE is a statewide nonprofit corporation dedicated to the inclusion of students with disabilities in Maryland’s public schools. Founded in 1988, MCIE provides a variety of advocacy and professional development services to families, administrators, and educators in order to promote the meaningful and successful participation of all students in their neighborhood schools and communities.
RMG is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Shaner joined the firm in August 2011 as a member of the tax controversy group. She graduated in May 2011 from the University of Maryland School of Law. Ms. Shaner graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University in 2006 and recently completed a clerkship with the Internal Revenue Service in Baltimore. Elizabeth also worked as a law clerk at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Maryland Department of the Environment.
RMG is pleased to announce that Brandon Mourges joined the firm in August 2011 as an associate in the tax controversy group. He received his B.S. in Economics at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 2006 and graduated from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2009. He also passed the Uniform CPA Exam in February 2010 and received his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Baltimore in July 2010.
RMG is pleased to announce that Harris Eisenstein joined the firm in August 2011 as an associate in the litigation and bankruptcy groups. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Finance in 2007 and graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2010. Mr. Eisenstein is licensed to practice in the State of Maryland.
RMG is pleased to announce that Timothy Wagner joined the firm in May 2011 as a tax consultant in the tax controversy group. He graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Management in 2004 and is a current law student at the University of Baltimore School of Law. Mr. Wagner assists with tax controversy matters including audits, forensic review and tax compliance.

We are pleased to announce that Hana Rose Kondratyuk joined the firm in April 2011. Ms. Kondratyuk’s arrival strengthens the firm’s real estate, creditors’ rights and estate planning and administration groups. She graduated suma cum laude from Towson University with a B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice and graduated magna cum laude from University of Baltimore School of Law in 2008. Since 1981, MLVS has served over 65,000 clients in areas such as consumer rights, family law, housing, tax, public benefits, special educational advocacy for children, and much more.

Gerard J. Gaeng moderated a panel of experienced Maryland litigators at the recent program presented in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland by the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association on the settlement process utilized in that court. The program included presentations by a number of the United States Magistrate Judges who preside over the court-sponsored mediation program.
RMG is pleased to announce that Bob Van Galoubandi became licensed to practice law in the State of Delaware on December 14, 2010. Mr. Galoubandi is an associate in the firm's Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights department, headed by Louis J. Ebert and William L. Hallam. Mr. Bradley represents banks, finance companies, secured and unsecured lenders in connection with loan workouts, bankruptcies, commercial collection matters and related litigation. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law where he served on the editorial board of the University of Baltimore Law Review, the National Civil Rights Moot Court Team, and as a Litigation Fellow with the Snyder Center for Litigation Skills.
Mr. Alberotanza earned his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center where he served as a Case Note Mentor for the Tax Lawyer, a nationally recognized legal journal published by the American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland.

Ms. Lubar advises clients on a broad array of tax, estate and business matters at the state, national and international levels. Mr. Lee received his LL.M in Taxation with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lee was an assistant general counsel with Silver Starr Art Studios, LLC, responsible for providing business and tax advice to emerging artists. He also worked for an international accounting firm, where he performed tax due diligence for mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Lee is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and will be sitting for the Maryland Bar Exam in February.

Rosenberg | Martin | Greenberg received a Pacesetters Award from the Legal Aid Bureau's Equal Justice Council. The award, which was presented at the Legal Aid Bureau's 12th Annual Recognition Breakfast on Thursday, May 21st, was given to recognize the firm's leadership and sustaining efforts in support of Legal Aid.
Caroline D. Ciraolo was elected to the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) Board of Directors at its February Board Meeting. David M. Wyand was elected to Helping Up Mission, Inc.'s Board of Directors at its January Board Meeting. Helping Up Mission is one of Baltimore's oldest and largest non-profit institutions, providing hope and help to the poor, the homeless and those recovering from addiction.
Melody Tagliaferri-Cronin is Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section “Wills for Heroes” Program. Wills for Heroes is a national organization founded to provide basic estate planning documents to first responders. The Foundation was started in response to 9/11 because many of the first responders that died did not have wills in place. Stuart R. Rombro, an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore in the Master of Taxation program, will be teaching the Partnership Taxation course in the Fall 2009 semester. We are pleased to announce that three highly-regarded attorneys have joined the firm effective January 1, 2009. The addition of partners Louis J. Ebert and William L. We are pleased to announce that Brian J. Crepeau joined the firm's tax controversy group in September 2008. Brian concentrates on federal and state tax controversies and litigation for individuals, small businesses and corporate taxpayers. He has represented large corporations in complex audits and has served as a litigation consultant to international law firms on money laundering, accounting and securities fraud. Mr. Crepeau is a Certified Public Accountant and is particularly skilled in cases involving accounting practice and procedures and accounting fraud. Mr. Crepeau earned his J.D. from the American University – Washington College of Law.
We are pleased to announce that Melody Tagliaferri-Cronin joined the firm's litigation group in September 2008. Melody's practice entails all aspects of civil litigation. Ms. Tagliaferri Cronin is a graduate of New York University and a graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a staff writer on the Cardozo Public Law, Policy, and Ethics Journal. She served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Albert J. Matricciani, Jr., during his tenure as a judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. She is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland.
On October 4th RMG sponsored a community service event benefiting Civic Works, an organization with a mission to build a future for Baltimore's youth through community service and skills development. In addition to sponsoring the event, the firm had a team of 20 volunteers consisting of employees and employee family members that helped beautify 1600 and 1700 blocks of 33rd Street in Clifton Park by installing new address plaques, painting porches, trimming bushes, trees and improving the overall curb-appeal of the area. Susan Roberto-Saidi, an associate of RMG, serves on the Civic Works Board of Directors.
At the 2008 Maryland State Bar Association's Annual Convention Hilary J. O'Connor was elected Chair of the MSBA's Real Property Section. for the 2008-2009 year.
In June 2008 Patrick M. Martyn was appointed by the Maryland State Bar Association to serve on the Commission to Study the Title Insurance Industry in Maryland. This Commission was established by legislation (Senate Bill 61/House BIll 600) passed by the Maryland legislature during the most recent legislative session. The purpose of the Commission is to study the title insurance industry in Maryland and make recommendations for changes to State laws relating to the title insurance industry. The Commission is to report its findings by December 2009.
In June, 2008, Caroline D. Ciraolo was elected to serve as Chair of the Taxation Law Section of the Maryland State Bar Association for a one-year term commencing on July 1, 2008.
We are pleased to announce that in July 2008 Brian Cyr joined Rosenberg | Martin | Greenberg, LLP as of counsel, practicing in the areas of Corporate and Securities, Mergers and Acquisitions, Emerging Growth and Venture Capital, Technology and Sourcing, Life Sciences and Electronic Commerce and Privacy. Mr. Cyr joins us after having been most recently associated with DLA Piper.
Mr. Cyr represents companies in a variety of business and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, technology-related transactions and intellectual property acquisition, development and licensing. He also has experience with data privacy and information security.
After several years with a DLA Piper-predecessor firm following a judicial clerkship, Mr. Cyr left private practice to take an in-house counsel position with a venture-backed technology company. He ultimately held the positions of general counsel, vice president for legal and business affairs and corporate secretary. In those roles, Mr. Cyr oversaw all legal matters, the legal and human resources departments and certain corporate matters. Mr. Cyr additionally counseled employees on intellectual property protection efforts and privacy matters.
Mr. Cyr returned to private practice in 2006 and, in addition to transaction-based representation, provides outside general corporate counsel representation to companies, including those in the information technology and life sciences industries.
RMG is pleased to announce that Benjamin Rosenberg is a recipient of this year’s Champion of Justice Award from the Legal Aid Bureau’s Equal Justice Council. Rosenberg was honored at the Equal Justice Council’s Annual Recognition Breakfast on Thursday, May 22.
Mr. Rosenberg has served the Equal Justice Council for the past five years by garnering support for the organization among his vast contacts and colleagues within Baltimore’s legal community. The award recognizes Ben’s energy, enthusiasm and steadfast commitment to the mission of the Legal Aid Bureau. The Equal Justice Council was formed by the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau to promote equal justice by increasing and diversifying the organization’s resources, serving as its advocates and ambassadors, and educating the public about the programs offered by the Legal Aid Bureau.

On July 1, 2007 Gerard J. Gaeng was elected to serve as Treasurer of the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.
In June, 2007, Caroline D. Ciraolo was elected to serve as Chair-Elect of the MSBA Taxation Law Section for a one-year term commencing on July 1, 2007.
